Things Mailman Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 22, 2026

Things Mailman is an open-source macOS utility developed by Maxime de Chalendar. It forwards messages you select in Apple Mail to the private Things address you provide. Things Mailman has no developer-operated server and does not include advertising, analytics, tracking, or third-party SDKs.

Information handled by the app

Things Mailman handles the following information solely to provide its features:

Data collection and tracking

The developer does not receive or collect your Mail messages, Things Mailman address, preferences, usage history, or diagnostic logs. Things Mailman does not sell personal information, create advertising profiles, or track you across apps or websites.

This policy page is hosted by GitHub Pages. GitHub may automatically process technical information about visits under its privacy statement. The developer has not added analytics or advertising to this page and does not receive visitor logs from Things Mailman.

Forwarding to Things

Sending a selected message is an action you initiate. Things Mailman directs Apple Mail to forward that message to the private address you supplied. The message is transported by your email provider and received and processed by Cultured Code's Mail to Things service. Cultured Code states that Mail to Things collects the content of forwarded emails and protects personal information as described in its privacy policy.

Things Mailman is an independent project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Cultured Code. The developer does not control the retention or deletion of information held by your email provider or Cultured Code.

Mail automation permission

Things Mailman requests macOS permission to control Apple Mail. It uses this permission to inspect your current selection, create and send forwards, discover filing locations, and perform the filing action you configured after Mail accepts a forward. You can revoke this permission at any time in System Settings under Privacy & Security > Automation.

Retention and deletion

Because the developer does not operate a server or receive your data, there is no remote Things Mailman account or developer-held personal data to delete.

Changes to this policy

Material changes will be published on this page and reflected by the “Last updated” date. The policy's revision history is also available in the project's public source repository.
